This workshop will be an
intense study of Portraiture. It is designed to help
artist's of all levels learn how to successfully paint
people in watercolor. This no nonsense approach of portraiture
breaks down skin tones into 3 different applications
of lights, mid tones, and darks. The student will also
learn luminous color recipes as well as intensive study
of the human features.
The instructor will give two
demonstrations a day. In the morning, a full portrait
and in the afternoon a demo will be given on a special
feature such as, eyes (brown, blue, green) nose (three
different angles and shapes), lips (closed lip smile,
smile with teeth showing) hair (all different colors)
and much, much more. There will be given an abundance
of attention to the individual student as well as a
final critique. The student will leave this workshop
with a full understanding of portraiture and how to
successfully and confidently paint a soulful painting
of a person in watercolor.
